Hey everyone,
Just wanted to warn people about an experience I had with a company called Phygitals.com. They’re running a pokémon claw machine that show off massive graded Pokémon cards you can supposedly pull from their claw machines. Sounds amazing, right? Except… it’s completely misleading.
After looking deeper into it, I realized they don’t actually own these giant graded cards at all. The advertising makes it look like you can win them, but it’s all just for show. The prizes are not what’s being advertised, and they’re basically using flashy, fake imagery to lure people in and spend money on their site.
It’s classic bait-and-switch marketing. They hook you with something that looks incredible (and collectible), but when you actually play, you find out it was never even real in the first place as they don’t own any of the cards they claim they do.
I’m posting this so no one else gets tricked into spending money chasing after something that doesn’t exist. Companies should be held accountable for deceptive marketing like this. I suspect once they’ve made enough money and they “allow” you to hit one of the big chases, they’ll have enough capital made to buy the graded card from Ebay/Fanatics.
Attached are the photos taken from their twitter promoting the new cards added to their machine and from their claw machine showing the “hits” inside the machine and the subsequent live listings of those exact cards on ebay/fanatics. Take note of the cert numbers.
Do Not Give These Clowns Money.
